Natural World Photography website contains a selection of images from many locations throughout the world. The Gallery heading is divided according to topics such as “Oceans”, “Birds and Animals”, “Scenics and Landscapes and “Poetry of the Earth”. The Poetry of the Earth category consists of a small group of images that have a magical quality linking visual imagery and the language of poetry. Each of these major divisions is further subdivided into subcategories according to geographical regions and/or topics. All of the images are copyrighted and protected but are available for commercial use or as fine art prints in limited editions. A most magnificent sight, a pair of Japanese cranes carrying out their elaborate and eloquent mating ritual. The dance has been referred to as a "Haiku" or Japanese poem. The location of this image was at the Crane reserve outside of Kushiro on the Northern most island of Japan, Hokkaido. The cranes congregate in the fields during the day where they come to feed. At night they retreat to the nearby river and are not really accessible. This image was taken with Fuji Sensia 100 using a Nikon N90 with a Tamron 400mm F4 lens. It is available as a fine art print.
